Seattle’s own Hilliard’s Beer is a relatively new startup with some nice branding underway that is being produced by Mint Design. From the beginning they have been detailing the process of creating this beer and evolving the brand over at their site. Their approach with allowing the public to see the behind the scenes work as this startup is brought to life is intriguing and helps instill a deeper personality within their brand.

I’ve really been enjoying the work of Austin design firm McGarrah Jessee lately. The Shiner, Whataburger and Central Market projects are my favorite. Great overall execution and consistency throughout each brand.

Vintage packaging is one of my favorite design mediums to admire and these old beer cans are no exception. Great use of color and type going on, but the bottle style and rusty goodness that adorns the cans makes them that much more valuable…to me at least. I wonder if any of these beers are still around…if they are, I’m pretty certain they don’t look as nice as these.
